'Session' is the word used to describe any one period of time you spend using the CD-ROM. You can save and load sessions, which means that you can store the work you've done with the system and retrieve it later.
For example, when you save a session, the screen you reached at this point, plus the contents of your Notepad, are saved as a Planet Earth Session file which can be placed on your hard disk or a floppy disk. The next time you use the CD-ROM, you can choose 'Load session' from the Tools menu to load this session and continue with your work.
